Penang Science Cafes are heaven-on-earth for science and technology enthusiasts. In essence, these local science community centres are meant for you and everyone else. Don’t have a personal project? Join a workshop instead!
Our workshops range from Micro:bit, Lego Robotics, Arduino, Scratch Programming, 3D Modelling to Science Workshops just to name a few. Thanks to the support of the government, industry and community, workshops are often open to the public at low or no cost at all.

Build a Planter Box with Stand by Rekayu

PowPowEarth: Weekly reading + writing workshop
PowPowEarth offers a weekly reading + writing workshop about climate, science, and the environment to school aged children via Zoom. Sources for class materials include: Britannica Kids (encyclopedia), TIME for Kids, National Geographic Kids, NASA videos for Kids, UN videos for kids, etc.
Children will learn to think critically about Earth and its challenges while improving their English reading and writing skills. Topics have included Polar Bears, Water, Honey Bees, Deforestation, Carbon Sinks, Sharks, Fungi, Whirlpools, Rain, Keystone species: Sea Otters.
