The 10th Regional Congress – Search for SEAMEO Young Scientist (SSYS 2016) will be held from 7 – 11 March 2016 at SEAMEO RECSAM, Penang, Malaysia.
The theme for this year’s Congress is “Youth Innovation for Sustainability”. All projects submitted should adhere to the congress theme. The areas of research should be related to the application and the integration of knowledge in Basic Sciences (Biology / Chemistry / Physics / General) and Mathematics with Technology, Environment or Health.
The Search for SEAMEO Young Scientists (SSYS) is a gathering of young scientists all over the ASEAN region as a venue for sharing and dissemination of information on their scientific and mathematical research projects. SSYS aims to encourage young learners to apply scientific and mathematical knowledge into technological problem-solving activities to address sustainable development. It plays a strong role in encouraging and involving young learners in projects which will generate much interest in science and mathematics.
All secondary school students (excluding pre-university and matriculation levels) from public and private schools recognised by the Ministry of Education of the respective countries, teachers, parents and the public are welcome to participate.
Deadline for project proposals and abstracts is 18 September 2015 and early bird registration for participation (for students, teachers, officials, observers and parents) is before 27 December 2015.
